AND MANY MORE TO COME!
LUCKY is a South African feature length film about a ten-year-old South African orphan who leaves his Zulu village, following the death of his mother, to make his own life in the city...only to find no one will help him, except a formidable Indian woman with a pathological fear of Africans called Padma. Together, unable to speak each other's language, they develop an unlikely bond.
Through an odyssey marked by greed, violence, and ultimately, belonging, LUCKY shows how a child's spirit can bring out decency, humility and even love in adults struggling to survive in the new South Africa.
What the Press is saying:
"a simple but profoundly moving portrait of humanity...a wonderful, little gem"

"achieves poignancy without manipulation...an awards contender"

"....an emotionally resonant portrait of contemporary South Africa...delicate and real...extraordinarily touching"

"storytelling that amplifies the heartbeat"
